Dear Lori and Mandy, We were so sad that your Mom went through so much and then passed away but we know she is in Heaven in her perfect body, enjoying Jesus, Johnny, her parents and Daddy too! I have so many happy memories of her and Claire at our house at birthday parties, at church and talking on the phone. I can hear her laugh even now. We have held you in our prayers and will continue to do so as you miss your sweet Mama. Sending Love from us and Mother sends her love and prayers too! Take care.

I didn't know Kathy personally, but heard many stories about her through her daughter Mandy, and had the pleasure of chatting with Kathy over the phone a couple times. Based on that experience, the loving tributes I've read from so many people who knew Kathy better (long-time friends, coworkers, & family), and the legacy that she has in her daughter Mandy, I can say with certainty that Kathy's life was a life well lived.

I was one of the computer operators at N.C. State that read in the card decks she would bring us, so the business of the university could get done. All the people in the Business Office were nice, but Kathy was special. I didn't want her to retire so soon, but she was right. She has left too soon. I am sorry for the family's loss.

I once took a huge box to your home on the back of my pickup. A piece of equipment had been delivered to the Computing Center in the box. She wanted to make a playhouse out of it for you children.
I hope it was enjoyed. We at State enjoyed knowing your Mother.

Lori and Mandy,
I am an old friend of your mom, dating back to the early 70's. We met while working at NCSU and then also worked together at the NC Agriculture Dept. The last time I saw Kathy was at your grandmother's visitation. Kathy was a dear friend to me and my late husband, Larry. We considered her our "heart friend". I was there for her happy times and sad ones. I have never known such a brave, stubborn and lovable little woman! Kathy always displayed such a good soul and was a devoted friend. One thought came to my mind today when I saw her obituary was how very much she loved each of her children. In the past couple of years, Kathy and I would message each other than we had to get with each other and catch up. Than covid hit and we said after that calmed down. I have so many good memories of Kathy and will always remember her as a sweet and dear friend. May she rest in peace with her heavenly family.
Love and prayers,
Dena Miller

You are all in my prayers in the days, weeks and months ahead. I know Kathy not being in your presence daily will be hard but look to God for your joy and remember all the good times you had together, that is where you will find peace. I know that it was a wonderful reunion when she was able to put her arms around Johnny again when she entered in the pearly gates!

All my love to you ALL!!!

Mandy and Lori,
I love you both and am so sorry you've gone through all of this. I love your momma like my own so this hit me hard. It's been a while since I had seen Kathy (thanks for covid) but she always made me feel like I was a kid back in school coming over to hang out.
I'll help with anything you need for the memorial. Love you both again,
Ali

Kathy was a wonderful, kind, genuine person. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. I remember tagging along with her when we were teenagers; I might have been a pre-teen, but Kathy treated me like she did everyone else. We would ride around Apex and listen to the radio! When we lived in Virginia, she came to stay a week in the summer. We would buy magazines that had articles about the Beatles. We loved them!!! She always stayed positive. I admired that constant characteristic. I am glad she is with Johnny, her parents as well as many others who have already passed on! Good-bye Kathy. Rest In Peace!!!

Kathy and I were neighbors for many years. I loved her. I remember her & I pretended to be the Beatles in her living room. Air playing drums & guitars to our favorite songs. Margaret & Grace would laugh at us. It was hilarious and so much fun. We both had horses that we rode together & cared for. I have not been in touch with her in years. But will miss knowing she isn’t in Apex. She now able to see Johnny, George & Margaret. Peace be with you my old friend. ❤️

I will always remember the huge good sense of humor that all the members in our extended family had/have and Kathy was no exception!
She could inspire you to overcome most anything because she had "been there", but she carried it with grace and dignity.
Kathy was one of the MOST sincere and genuine people you could ever know. She will be so, so missed by everyone that knew her.
I find peace in knowing she is with her many loved ones that went on before her and Jesus.
I will greatly miss her, until we meet again ~ All My Love
