Margaret Mills Travis

Margaret was born March 10, 1922 in the Green Level community of Wake County to the late Green Titus Mills and Electa Farrar Mills. She was a graduate of Green Hope High School and Meredith College. Margaret was a teacher in the Wake Public School System retiring with over 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, J. Benjamin Travis; and her brothers, William Mills, Metri Mills, and Leon Mills; sisters, Mary Yates, Clara Branton, Reba Eatmon, and Wilba Beavers.

She is survived by her son, David B. Travis; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 201 Dixie Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607. Burial will follow the service at Green Level Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12pm - 1pm prior to the service in the church parlor.
