Michael Joseph Hrehor

Michael Joseph Hrehor died at Rex Hospital in Raleigh surrounded by the love of his family and friends on Friday, February 24, following a heart attack. Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Hrehor; and his maternal grandparents, Joseph “Knobby” and Dorothy Walsh. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Dahulich) Hrehor; his daughters, Mikayla, Kate, and Sara; his parents, Allen Joseph and Nancy Hrehor; his siblings, Kevin Hrehor, Amy (Mike) Skinner, Timothy (Evelyn) Hrehor, and Daniel (Lori) Hrehor; his nieces Sophie and Emily Hrehor; and his nephew Michael Timothy Hrehor. Also, Michael is survived by his mother and father-in-law, Sandy and Ronald Dahulich; his brother-in-law, Timothy (Mareen) Dahulich and their son Patrick; his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Dahulich; also several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was a member of St. Bernadette’s Church in Fuquay-Varina.

Michael was born and raised in Binghamton, NY, where he met and made life-long friends through his participation in East Side Youth League, St. Paul’s Catholic Youth Organization, and Binghamton High School athletics. He also enjoyed spending summer weekends at the family cottage on the Susquehanna River in Kirkwood, NY. Michael attended Broome Community College where he met the love of his life, Lisa. They eventually moved to Cary to open Roma’s Italian Deli. Michael enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family and friends, and vacationing at the beach and Disney World. Michael discovered his heart’s longing in his beautiful devotion to his wife and daughters. The inexhaustible goodness in Michael helped others find a hospitable belonging. He generously gave himself to life and to others, incarnating the heart and soul of his family and friends in and through his faith. Family and friends may call at the Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams Street, Apex, on Monday, February 27, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernadette’s Church, 1005 Wilbon Road, Fuquay-Varina. Burial will immediately follow.
