Trish started life as a country girl born on March 14, 1944 in Hatboro, PA to the late Frank and Elizabeth Goddard. She met her husband, Phil Brunozzi, while both were employed with Bethlehem Steel in Philadelphia. He promptly married her in 1967 and they raised two children (Jennifer and Stephen) in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. During this time, Trish cared for several elderly family members in failing health including her own mother and mother-in-law. She remained married to Phil for 34 years until his sudden death in August 2001. Trish and Phil loved movies and music, though he did not share her affection for Robert Redford or Englebert Humperdinck.
Trish worked as a Weight Watcher’s lecturer, bookkeeper, part-time journalist, and realtor for several businesses in Philadelphia and the Pocono Mountains. She was focused for many years, however, on completing her bachelor’s degree in journalism at Temple University in 1993. Full-time employment often necessitated night school; she and her daughter Jennifer shared many classes much to the delight and confusion of their classmates.
Throughout her life, Trish was a faithful Christian who enjoyed singing in church choirs, sponsoring many missionaries over the years, and hosting Bible studies in her home for Jews who lived in the neighborhood. After her relocation to Raleigh in early 2017, she became an active member of Woodhaven Baptist Church where she made many friends.
Despite being an only child, Trish loved opening her home regularly to her children’s friends – all who were present at dinner time would always find a place at the meal table. Trish also initiated contact and visited distant relatives of her husband in Italy. She talked frequently about the 1993 trip to Rome, Venice, and the Abruzzi coastline as a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer Weitzman (Dr. David Weitzman); son, Stephen Brunozzi (Jessica Brunozzi); grandchildren: Sarina and Samantha Weitzman and Olivia and Gabriel Brunozzi.
