We were so sorry to hear of Paul’s passing away.  We have such good memories of fun family visits    together to Wisconsin and Nevada from Mary and Paul over the years.  We will never forget them.             Dawn Wells (Rodger C.)

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Paul and want to extend my sincere condolences to all of you.  He was such a gent!

I met Paul in 1985 when I was a first tour Foreign Service Officer and he was my first boss.  What a lucky person I was.  He was patient and full of humor, just what I needed!   

We had lots of fun in and out of that office in South Africa - from dealing with many humorous situations at work (one person submitted a work order for a new carpet, after he examined the one we provided with an ultraviolet light! Paul loved that one)  to exploring Pretoria and Johannesburg.    He was tolerant enough to go along with a group of us who wanted to see the Cherry Faced Lurchers, a rock band,  in Johannesburg, and I can tell you I never heard the end of that.

Anyway, I have so many fond memories.  He was a wonderful person to work for and to have as a friend.  I'll never forget him and our shared memories as he played an important role in one of the brightest parts of my life.

And, you know, people remind each other to be kind.   No one ever had to remind Paul about that.

Paul was the Supervisor of the office I worked in during the mid 1980’s in Pretoria.  He was fun to work with and very professional and fair.
We were also friends and a group of us would often get together to play games or go out to eat and always had a great time.  We were later in the DC area and after Paul’s first wife died he and Mary got together and we often got together and stayed in touch over the years.  They were a wonderful support for each other during life’s many trials and to me. He will be greatly missed and I send my sincere condolences to Mary and the rest of Paul’s family.  Bev Wiley

So incredibly sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family. I always loved when he’d visit our family. Although it’s been quite some time since I last saw him, I remember him fondly.

I remember working with Paul in Pretoria in the '80s. He was a pleasure to work with as well as being being a fair and even boss. My husband and I always enjoyed remembering several fun parties with Paul too. He will be remembered.
