
Paul Kazmer, 83, formerly of Guilderland and Brant Lake, New York died on Sunday, February 15th 2026 surrounded by family in Morrisville, North Carolina. Paul was the son of the late Chester Kazmer and Cecelia (Sowek) Kazmer. Grandson of the late Stacia (Mazur) Sowek and John Sowek and the late Ida (Koprowska) Kazmierczak and Stanley Kazmierczak.
Paul was born and educated in Albany, New York. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for the New York State Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer designing bridges throughout New York. Paul and his wife, Thea enjoyed a happy fifty-seven years of marriage together before his passing this year. Family was everything to him and he was the loyal and steadfast pillar for them. Paul was also a talented woodworker able to build everything from furniture to their home in the Adirondack Mountains. His happiest times were warm summer days spent on the boat with family on Brant Lake. He was a snowskier and waterskier into his late seventies.
Paul is survived by his wife, Thea (Ammon) Kazmer, his four children; Dr. Paul Kazmer Jr (Janet), Michael Kazmer (Erin), Keith Kazmer (Danielle) and Lisa Kazmer (Eric Finkelman); and ten grandchildren; ENS Andrew, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Alexander, Cara, Gaven, Kai, Jack, Caroline, and Piper. He was predeceased by his sister Joan (Kazmer) Moon.
