Ruby Lee Herndon Kelly

Ruby Herndon Kelly, 91, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 at home with her children at her bedside. Ruby is survived by her son, James Kelly, daughter, Wanda Henke, and grandsons, John and Matt Kelly and Michael and Kevin Henke. She is also survived by her 13 loving nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Kelly, and a son who died at birth.

Ruby retired from ITT Telecommunications after 22 years. She was known for her extensive knowledge of Apex history and her love of sports. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her deep love for her family and friends, especially her “Bo Buddies.” She was a long-time member of Salem Baptist Church and was the second oldest member at the time of her death.

Funeral services will be held at Salem Baptist Church at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 13, 2013.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Apex Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County or Salem Baptist Church Building Fund.
