Salinda was born on a small farm in Kansas, and later moved to California at a young age before settling in Apex, North Carolina. There, she built a life filled with love, adventure, and compassion. She had a fulfilling career as a dietary manager in various hospitals, including Mission Bay and Torrey Pines in California, before working at Brookdale MacArthur Park Senior Living.
Salinda was a dedicated professional, excelling in every role she took on. More than just a manager, she cared deeply for the patients and residents she served; always ensuring they were well cared for and comforted. Salinda never met a stranger and was an amazing friend to many. She was known for her sense of humor, kindness, and vivid imagination.
She was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren, niece, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews, and was an incredible sister and friend to all who knew her. A fantastic storyteller, Salinda read everything she could get her hands on, particularly history. Salinda would recount stories to her family with contagious excitement. She embraced life with an open heart, finding joy in the little details and making every holiday a true celebration.
A passionate animal lover and advocate, she cared deeply for animals and championed their welfare. She also had a great appreciation for the arts, especially musicals, which brought her immense joy.
Salinda is survived by her children Sunday Jule Petrov (Denis) and Benjie Robert Green; her beloved grandchildren Carter Jacob Petrov, Ryan Daniel Petrov; her siblings Carol Ann Van De Ven and Randolf Lee Lollar; her cherished pets Peaches, Henry, and Mickey.
