Sherie Lynn Broadwell

She was born on October 3, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Robert and Virginia Hoyt.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Luther Broadwell.

Sherie is survived by her sons, Jamie (wife Kelly) and Mike Otwell (wife Corinne); her brother, Robert Hoyt (wife Linda) of Arkansas; and five grandchildren.

Sherie had a lifelong love for animals, but her greatest passion was for horses. She was an accomplished owner, rider, and exhibitor, deeply rooted in the horse community and traveled across the country to showcase her beloved horses. She also poured her knowledge into countless young riders, generously mentoring and influencing them.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone—especially the horse-showing community—for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to Sherie in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, December 8, at 1:00 PM at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest. Visitation with the family will follow the service.
