Stanley Owen Yates

He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Brenda Dove Yates; son Matthew Yates of Raleigh; daughter Rachel Yates (Nathan Howard) of Clayton; and two grandchildren—Everett Yates Howard and a baby girl due in February.

Stanley was born in Apex, North Carolina to Norris Yates (surviving) and Joyce Dixon Yates, who preceded him in death. He was the owner and operator of Yates Electric Service of Raleigh for 30 years before joining the city of Raleigh as an electrical inspector. After his initial diagnosis over 26 years ago, he persevered, proving to be his family's hero as he showed grace and a fierce fighting spirit. Stanley defied all the odds and lived in victory over his illness until his heavenly Father called him home.

In life, Stanley was completely dedicated to his family, and his legacy will live on through the lives of each of the people he touched.

A Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., Martha's Chapel Christian Church in Apex, NC. The family will receive guests one hour prior at the church. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
