Virginia Wallin Bentley

29 août 1940 – 5 janvier 2023
Avis de décès de Virginia Wallin Bentley
AUX SOINS DE

Apex Funeral Home

Virginia Wallin Bentley passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 5, 2023. For 82 years, Virginia lived a beautiful life filled with the love and happiness of family and friends.

Virginia and Tom were married for 63 years and shared their life together raising 4 children. Virginia was a wonderful role model, hero and mother to Steven and Mary, Denise and Tom, Bruce, and Diane and Danny. She was the best, loving and fun Nana to Andi and Jon, Rachel and Jeff, Matt and Hailey, John and Letti. She has been Super Nana to Ella, Gabi, Blake, Giba and Bowen, and she has been a loving sister and best friend to Frances.

Virginia was born and raised in the Bronx. She began her career at Karastan Rugs where she met the love of her life, Tom. After moving a few times, they settled for 20 years in Setauket, NY. Virginia worked as an administrative assistant at SUNY Stony Brook - department of psychology, and later, Suffolk Child Development Center.

In 1995, Virginia and Tom retired to Pawleys Island, South Carolina where they spent 22 wonderful, fun filled retirement years with all their friends at Heritage Plantation. In 2017, they moved to Apex, NC to continue their lives near their family.

Virginia loved life! She loved family, friends, parties, golf, cards, and everything positive! She was filled with happiness, laughter and fun. Virginia was a super hero. She survived 3 different cancers. Lung cancer in 2001 took her entire right lung. She lived 21 years with one lung beating all odds. She also beat the odds on the golf course and shot a hole in one!

If Virginia were writing this, she would like to say thank you. Thank you to all the people who helped her along the way. Those who loved her, assisted her, cared for her, laughed with her and taught her things so that she could have a wonderful happy life. She was blessed beyond measure by knowing all of you. That is what made her life worthwhile.

Virginia is being met in heaven by her husband, Tom, her son, Bruce, and her best friend, Theresa Manning. Virginia was a truly cherished and blessed woman who will be missed forever.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire Wake Med Hospital team and all her doctors for their loving care and support to Virginia and the family.

Services for Virginia and a celebration of her and Tom’s life will be held at a later date.
