

She was born May 11, 1935 in Port Washington to the late Frances and Virgil Zirpolo. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY. She spent her entire working career as a Registered Nurse sharing her compassionate and caring manner with many people. Virginia loved traveling to many exotic locations. Her favorite trip was when she “danced with the penguins” in Antarctica. She loved butterflies, birds and angels and is in their presence now.
She is lovingly remembered and will be greatly missed by her family; daughters Margo Bills and Husband Cliff of Apex and Debora Rand and husband Joseph of Cary; her beloved grandchildren Janelle Aguiar and Husband Sam of Louisville, KY; Andrew Bills of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; great-grandson Owen Aguiar, Louisville, KY; A brother Virgil Zirpolo and wife Gail of MD; a sister-in-law Noel Zirpolo of NY and by many nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by both her loving husbands Edward Bonafino and Brian Young along with her brother Michael.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Waltonwood Cary Memory Unit, Transitions LifeCare and her friends at Comfort Keepers for loving Virginia as one of their own.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, December 8, 2015 from 6-8pm at Apex Funeral Home, with a prayer service beginning at 7:45pm. A mass of Christian burial celebrating her life will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Rd in Cary, NC. Interment will be at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
