Willie Mae was born in Wake County, NC to the late Arlie and Ila Myatt Dupree. She was employed with Poe Brothers and later with AMP Inc. and Fairview Greenhouse. In her retirement, she became a caregiver until age 83. Her outgoing nature made for many friendships and acquaintances. Willie Mae had a passion for flowers and gardening. She was a member of Apex Baptist Church and the Golden Agers Club.
Willie Mae is survived by her husband of 70 years, Howard Richard Mills; daughter, Paula Marie Mills Henderson; son, Stephen Mills and wife, Nancy; five grandchildren, Guy Henderson, Jr., Howard Henderson, Ruby Henderson Dyer, Stephen Garrett Mills, and Keegan Vann Mills and five great grandchildren; three sisters; one brother.
A graveside service will be held 1pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Apex Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
