Ashleigh Henry

Ashleigh Elizabeth Henry was born in New Orleans on October 9, 1991, to proud and loving parents Samuel Henry Jr. and Sandra Anderson Richard-Henry. Ashleigh Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Henry Jr. her paternal grandparents Samuel and Anna B. Henry her maternal grandmother, Vivian N. Anderson.

New Orleans was her home until Hurricane Katrina altered her life, she then moved with her family to Apple Valley, CA. While living her life in New Orleans, she attended Osborne Elementary School and St. John Lutheran. She received a scholarship to the prestigious Xavier University Preparatory High school New Orleans. Her high school studies were completed at the Lewis Center of Educational Research Academy for Academic Excellence in Apple Valley, CA, where she was inducted into the Honor Society. She was selected by the U.S. Congressional program to represent the United States as Junior Ambassador to Austria and New Zealand, She also selected by the U.S., traveling to several European Nations. She graduated from Howard University with a bachelor’s degree in the Human Development and Psychoeducational Studies, in 2015, after residing in the D. C for 8 years, she moved back to Apple Valle. On June 9, 2018, she welcomed the joy of her life, her beautiful baby boy into the world and he being the center of her universe, as she was his. The love and bond they had cannot be put in words and her “Sam Bam” aka Bucky misses mommy immensely.

She enjoyed eating and cooking god New Orleans Cajun style food. Ashleigh Elizabeth had a strong foundation in Christ, beginning at the Bethany United Methodist Church, New Orleans, LA, and the united with Burning Bush Church, Victorville, Ca.

Ashleigh Elizabeth is lovingly remembered by her son Samuel-Elijah A. Henry, her beloved mother Sandra Anderson Richard- Henry, her siblings, Anthony Jermoe Richards, and Vernon C. Richards, jr. of Apple Valley, Ca. Dr, Anna Henry-Heisser (Trent) of San Antonio, TX. Samuel Henry III (Dotria), Houston TX, Adam R. Henry (Dera) Houston (DERA) Houston TX> Dr, Leanne Henry-Fowler (Dannye) Slidell, LA. Her Aunts Lucile P. Hankton Apple Valley, CA and Judy Arceneaux (David), Spring, TX . Her uncle, Theodore Gaines, Bronx NY. Special Howard Unoversity friend. Charles Brown, Donte Mayo, Nia Joohnson, Denasia “Dee” Reavis and Dr. Eric Turner, Jr. A host of nieces, nephew and one great nephew cousins, the wonderful Howard University Alumni, and her Burning Bush Church Family.
