Bettie Louise Young

Bettie Young, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born on September 12, 1942, in Mississippi, and her journey through life was one marked by compassion, dedication, and a deep love for learning.

Bettie spent many years as a substitute teacher, sharing her passion for education and guiding countless students with patience and wisdom. Her impact in the classroom extended far beyond lessons in books; she taught the importance of kindness, respect, and perseverance. Bettie was a cherished figure in the school communities she served, remembered for her nurturing spirit and her unwavering belief in the potential of every child.

Outside of the classroom, Bettie was a devoted matriarch, known for her warm heart and strong sense of family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Bettie’s ability to brighten any room with her smile, her unwavering support for those she loved, and her gentle guidance will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving family, who take comfort in knowing that her influence will continue to live on in the generations she nurtured. Bettie’s memory will forever be cherished by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and many extended family members and friends.

A private family service will be held to celebrate her life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bettie's honor to a local educational charity, a cause she held dear.
