

On October 1st 2018 Doug left this world for heaven with his devoted wife of 40 years by his side. They met in 1976 and were married in April of 1978. For the next 40 years Doug was a loving husband and father who built a life that anyone would be proud of. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know Doug knew of his incredible spirit for life, overwhelmingly positive attitude, his love for his family and his Catholic faith. He was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Knights of Columbus and taught Confirmation classes at Holy Innocents Catholic Church.
His career path started with an entry level position at Sav-On and over the next 30 years Doug climbed the corporate ladder making a greater impact on the people around him the further he progressed in his career. After a brief retirement in 2007, he was the manager of Sportsman’s Warehouse. It was following the closure of this store when Doug had the opportunity to pursue his true professional passion in being a teacher. He was a Business Instructor at SJVC for just over eight years. The impact that he had on his colleagues and students will be something that lives on for a long time.
Doug loved camping, fishing, and spending time with family. He also really enjoyed reading, working with and creating things with wood, as well as working on computers. He created a joyous and happy atmosphere for anyone who was in his presence.
He is survived by his wife Terry, his three children, Christina, Melissa and Stephen, his son in law Matt, daughter in law Lindsay, his six grandkids, Macy, Faith, Matthew, Ethan, Julia and Audrey. Also, his mother Jennie and two brothers Mark and Greg.
Viewing for Mr Patch will be held Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. here at Sunset Hills Mortuary.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, 13230 El Evado Road in Victorville.
Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Apple Valley.
