It is with a heavy heart we announce that George Allen Hawkeye Anhalt Jr. passed away from medical complications during the night on April 6th, 2025. George was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 21st, 1970 to George Anhalt Sr and Susanne Anhalt. Wanting something different with his life, he moved to Nashville, TN in 1993 to settle down and start a family, as well as reunite with his mother.
Growing up, he loved comics, playing basketball and watching the Chicago bulls. He attended Willowbrook High School and was often regarded as charismatic and a “ladies man”; those close to him said although he was tough on the outside, he soft on the inside and had a big heart. His sister Tracy and him were the best of friends and always had each other’s backs throughout their lives.
As an adult, he had many trades and passions. George loved all Chicago sporting teams, Alabama football, Dale Earnhardt Jr, fishing, watching movies, fountain drinks, and most importantly his family, especially his grandkids. He was a loving and loyal father, son, uncle, brother, nephew, friend, and “Pappa George” - his favorite role. He left an impression on everyone he met and often spread laughter, optimism, and stories. Although he faced many demons and challenges in his life, he never let it keep him down and remained positive and happy.
