

Gerald W. Wyzlic was born August 28, 1937 to Mildred and Walter Wyzlic in Peoria, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt, his only brother, and most recently his beloved wife. Gerald graduated from Limestone Community High School in 1955. He then attended Bradley University, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor's of Science. He accepted a job teaching Chemistry and Physics at his high school alma mater. This was the springboard of a 41 year career as a high school teacher of Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. His career took him to Needles, CA in September of 1962. It was there he met and married his soul mate, Dona Schulz. Gerald was awarded a National Science Foundation Scholarship at Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, where he continued to pursue his education. He received his Master's of Science for Teachers in August of 1966, majoring in Chemistry. Gerald was the proud father of four daughters and one son. He worked diligently throughout the years to provide for his family. His primary job found him at Apple Valley High School from 1967-1999. He spent time wallpapering many houses as a side job. He independently started Wyzlic’s Tax Service which eventually grew to over 400 tax returns annually. His final year of teaching, prior to his "retirement" in 2000, was spent at Granite Hills High School's inaugural year. Gerald dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in the name of Jesus. He was blessed with 6 granddaughters, 8 grandsons, and 3 great grandsons whom he loved dearly. He will be remembered as a great man and will be missed tremendously.
