

Imelda Galván, 73 passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. Leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was born on May 7, 1952, in Zacán, Michoacán, Mexico. In 1976, she moved to Riverside, California, where her journey took a beautiful turn when she met Noel Galván. They married on May 21, 1977, and together they built a life filled with love and family.
Imelda and Noel settled in Victorville, California, where they welcomed three daughters: Ana, Myra, and Martha. As her daughters grew and started school, Imelda pursued a career in the food industry, a field where she found great joy until her retirement in 2012. Cooking was more than a profession for Imelda; it was her passion. She loved teaching her family the art of preparing her favorite dishes, creating lasting memories around the dining table with her grandchildren Aaron, Adrian, Giselle, and Alyssa.
Imelda is remembered for her loving nature, kindness, and unwavering work ethic. Her warmth touched the lives of numerous family members and friends, and she will be profoundly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Ana Garnica and her spouse Alfredo Garnica, along with grandsons Aaron and Adrian Garnica. Her daughter Myra Herrera and her spouse Bobby Herrera Jr. also mourn her loss, along with granddaughters Giselle and Alyssa Herrera, and a great-granddaughter expected in February 2026. Her youngest daughter, Martha Galván, alongside her siblings Sara Cerano, Juan Ortiz, Emilio Ortiz, Manuel Ortiz, Celso Ortiz, Tomasa Olea, Abigail Morales, and Maria Ortiz, will carry her memory forward.
Imelda was preceded in death by her husband Noel Galván, as well as her father Anastacio Ortiz and mother Anastacia Ortiz.
As we celebrate Imelda’s life, we remember her not only for her culinary talents but also for the love she shared so freely. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
