John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a man of faith whose quiet strength and gentle humor touched everyone who knew him.
Born December 4, 1937, in Upland, California, John was the son of Joel Carney Blair and Grace Alva Blair (née Rosier). He spent his career with Southern California Edison, beginning as a meter reader and taking great pride in his work and the friendships he made along the way.
After his retirement, John enjoyed many fulfilling years in Apple Valley and Rancho Cucamonga, where he devoted himself to his garden, countless home projects, fishing trips, and above all time with family. He and his wife Beverly shared wonderful memories at their Big Bear cabins, creating a beloved gathering place for their children and grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Carney and Grace Blair, his sister Beatrice Stephenson, and his brother Richard Hudson.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Beverly R. Blair; son Daniel Blair (Molly); daughter Nancy O’Brien (Todd); grandchildren Brittany O’Brien (Jimmy), Christopher Blair (Linda), Edmund O’Brien, and Sarah Blair (Daniel “DJ”); and great-granddaughter Lily Blair.
John will be remembered for his warmth, patience, faith, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he helped shape and the memories shared by all who knew him.
A private family graveside service will be held.
