John Wayne Quimby

John Quimby passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 83 in Apple Valley, California. He was born on December 31, 1942, and grew up in California and Missouri. John graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in education and worked as a teacher, coach, counselor, and administrator in the San Gabriel Valley, primarily in Baldwin Park.

John was known for his quick wit, joyful laugh, and love for family. He enjoyed playing cribbage and took delight in playing the game with friends and family members, especially his son and grandsons. John also loved golf and sometimes it loved him back, particularly on the two occasions he scored a hole in one.

John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joanne; his children, Janelle and Jeff (Eryne); and his grandchildren, Nathan and Parker. He is also survived by his sister, Iris (Val), his sister, Sharon, and his brother, Bill (Margaret). John was preceded in death by his parents, William Quimby and Virginia Quimby Laprise.

A funeral service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Community Church at Jess Ranch in Apple Valley. John's humor, storytelling, and love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
