Joseph Lawrence Corbett

Born May 24, 1932 at Camden, NJ. Enlisted in the Air Force in 1951, two months short of high school graduation. Served 20 years in the Air Force and retired as Master Sergeant. Last military assignment as Sergeant Major at the Air Division Headquarters serving under Korean Lieutenant General “Boats” Blesse.

Married Noriko (Nikki) while stationed in the Air Force in Japan in 1953, thereby beginning a 60 year marriage which ended in her death in 2015. He is survived by children Nancy Navarro, Jeane Salazar and husband Jess, Kathleen Shreve and Michael Corbett (deceased) 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Post service career, he attained a BA degree and a Master Degree in Public Administration and held positions in Public Recreations in Victorville, CA and as Director of Parks and Recreation and City Manager in Delano, CA where he retired in 1991.

A committal service will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, located at 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley, CA 92307, on December 26, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

Following the committal service, a reception will take place at Sunset Hills Mortuary, also at 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley, CA 92307, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm on the same day.
