Mary A Damiani

Mary Damiani, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sept. 9, 1925 of Polish Immigrant parents. She is survived by four sons, Dr. Joseph, Plastic surgeon of Abilene, TX, Dr. Stephen Mario, endorcrinologit of Apple Valley, Ca Dr. Perry J Oral-maxillofacial surgeon of Apple Valley, and Joel A Financial Analyst, 7 Grandchildren, daughter-in-law Maria,RN and Dr. Sandra Chu Damiani, family practicionar. She is also survived by nieces, nephew, grand nieces.

Mary received her bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University of WI, Milwaukee. She worked as a medical Technologist at County Emergency Hospital after her internship in Milwaukee County General Hospital. She Later obtained her license in teaching at the elementary and secondary levels. She taught at the Milwaukee Public School system for 10 years at the elementary level and 9 years at the high school level, where the students she taught were some of the first refugees from Vietnam War. She taught and befriended for life many Hmong students. Mary also taught ESL classes at Milwaukee Area Technical College to Foreign students on a part time basis.

She was a member of WI Audubon Society, active in the area of birding. She was an avid skier. As a Member of the WI Paleontological Society, the collecting of invertebrate fossils became a life long hobby for her. In CA, she belonged to the Victor Valley Rock and Gen Club for as many years as she and her husband lived here.

Mary is a member of Our Lady of the Desert CAtholic Church in Apple Valley where she was a lector, communion minister and taught Catechism to both elementary grades to the confirmation candidates. In Wisconsin she also taught Catechism at the elementary level to parish members,

After the death of her husband, Mary Volunteered as Eucharistic Minister to thesick at St. Mary's Hospital, Apple Valley for 10 years.

Her remains will be interred at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Apple Valley CA.
