grandparent’s home in Gann Valley, South Dakota. She passed from this earth on
October 15 th , 2022, in Apple Valley, California. At the age of 10, Roselyn was
adopted by her stepfather, Clarence “Willie” Williams and the family moved to
Corona, California. Roselyn Williams graduated from Corona Senior High School in
June of 1952 and went on to attend Chaffey College where she met a handsome
young man, Robert “Bob” Stapp. They were married on June 27 th , 1953. Rose and
Bob settled in Barstow where they raised three rambunctious sons. She was a
wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Rose was
an active member of the Pink Lady Hospital Auxiliary at Barstow Hospital for 49
years. She was an avid crocheter and the family has many of her beautiful afghans
to remember her by. Bob was a volunteer firefighter, and they had many
wonderful memories of the lifelong friends from that group they shared good
times with. They enjoyed trips to the river and later cruised with a number of
their friends on the Windjammer Sailing Ships. An epic trip by road to Canada and
Alaska, camping along the way with friends, is another special memory. In 1979,
Bob and Rose built a beautiful home in the Barstow Heights neighborhood that he
designed, and they hosted many memorable family occasions there. Bob and
Rose were members of First Baptist Church in Barstow. Rose is survived by her
husband Bob, her half-brother Richard Sinke, her sons Jerry (Kerry), David (Mary),
Rob (Lauren), grandchildren Jennifer Yazzie, Tracy Herold, Monica Mathews,
Kristy Gurol, Aimee Mattazaro, April Stapp and Robbie Stapp and 12 great-
grandchildren – Ethan and Aaron Yazzie, Denver, Quinn, Jase and Carson
Mathews, Darcy Herold, James and Joseph Mattazaro, Eliana Stapp, and Ender
and Ayla Gurol. We mourn our loss but all of us celebrate her arrival in Heaven.
