Ruth was born in Essex, England where she spent her childhood with her beloved mother (Johanna Revett) and sisters (Norah, Patricia and Jean). In 1963, she married the love of her life, Jon York, beginning a marriage that would span more than six decades and be filled with devotion, partnership, and family.
In 1980, Ruth and her family made their home in Apple Valley, California, where she would live for the remainder of her life. She was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and deep care for others. Ruth found great joy in reading and had a special passion for working with special education children, dedicating her time and compassion to helping young people learn and grow. She also loved her rose garden and her home was filled with light, laughter and flowers.
Above all else, Ruth cherished time spent with her family and her presence brought warmth to everyone around her.
Ruth is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Jon York; her three children (Jacqueline, Kevin and Michael); six grandchildren (Colin, Nicole, Wesley, Tessa, Miguel, and Paige); five great-grandchildren; and her three sisters. Her beloved grandson, Trevor, preceded her in death and is now reunited with her in heaven. She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her love, guidance, and memory.
