Alicia Claire Satterwhite passed away, August 1st, at Arlington Memorial Hospital.
Born in Arlington, Texas to Sharon and Richard Satterwhite, she graduated from UTA with a degree in biology, and from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas, where she met her husband, a fellow chef, Christopher Sadger.
Lisa took pride in everything she did, from the food she created, to being a classically trained pianist to becoming a talented self-taught artist.
The outstanding traits for which she will always be remembered are her devotion to her family and giving creatively to those less fortunate. Her generosity knew no bounds, extending to her love of nature and the environment. She instructed that at her death, she wanted “to be a tree”, leaving no casket “footprint”, but having only ashes at the base of an ancient oak that will shade her resting place.
Her sense of humor never failed, making even the doctors and nurses laugh. She never wanted accolades or attention, just a good joke and a smile.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jane and Pud Satterwhite, grandmother, Claire Smith, and beloved father Richard Satterwhite. She leaves behind her husband, Christopher, mother, Sharon, brother “Hey Boy” Andrew, aunts, Sandra Davis and Sheri Satterwhite, and many beloved cousins and friends, especially Dana Jenson, a loyal life-long friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a private graveside service in the family cemetery in Chatfield, Texas. Arrangements are pending .
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Friends of the Earth or charity of choice.
The family is forever grateful for the extraordinary care and compassion given by the doctors and nurses in the ICU unit, and also by the Community Hospice of Texas.
