Barney G. Stanley Jr. of Arlington, born January 6, 1937, passed away at home on Saturday, December 26. Barney was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He grew up in Georgetown, Texas, where he also attended Southwestern University on a double basketball and baseball scholarship. He was a Veteran of the Texas Army National Guard. He retired from The University of Texas at Arlington after many years as Business Manager. Barney also was a founding member of Arlington North Rotary Club.
Barney is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Jannette Stanley, daughter Lana Stanley, Grandson, Ethan Norrid, and Brother, Richard Stanley. He was preceded in death by his father, Barney Stanley Sr., and his mother Pearl Mercer Stanley.
Services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 30. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 29. Both will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis, in Arlington, Texas.
