Beatrice Henrietta Combs

A Funeral Mass for Beatrice Henrietta Combs, 93, of Fort Worth, TX will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at St Rita Catholic Church, 5550 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth, TX. Burial will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX.

Beatrice Henrietta Lake was born March 11, 1923 in Lake City, Florida, one of six children born to Thomas Lake and Annie Bradley Lake. She spent her growing up years in Lake City where she attended school. Beatrice married Ementha Russell Combs on September 14, 1940 in Lake City, FL. They made their home in Fort Worth where she was employed with the Fort Worth ISD in food service. She retired after 20 years, the majority of which she spent in the cafeteria at Dunbar Middle School. Beatrice was active in the Progressive Social and Arts Club of Fort Worth and loved playing Yahtzee and following the Dallas Cowboys.

Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ementha Russell Combs on November 29, 1999, by one son, Little Beaver Combs in 2013, and by five of her siblings. Survivors include two sons, Tijemel Combs and Darryl Combs, two daughters Castella Combs and Rudy Clicquot, one sister, Castella Lane of Chicago, IL, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
