

Betty Louise Swaim was born on Monday, September 5, 1932, in Keller, Texas, to Guy and Bertha Hazlewood. Betty passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the age of 93 in Arlington, Texas. She graduated from Rhome High School in 1949.
Betty Married the love of her life, Elvis Swaim in 1973 and inherited three lovely children. She was an economist at the Corp of Engineers for many years.
In her spare time Betty enjoyed playing bridge, scrabble, and golf. She was even famous for making a hole-in-one. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, playing games, enjoying cookouts, swimming and just visiting. Her friends and family will always remember her as a loving and good lady to everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elvis Swaim, her parents Guy and Bertha Hazlewood, Brother Charles Hazlewood, sister-in-law June Hazlewood, daughter-in-law Bobbie Swaim, and grandson Jason Butler.
Betty is survived by her Stepchildren, Donald Swaim, Glen and Teresa Gibson, John and Christine Swaim, sister, MaryAnn Motley.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Brian Butler, Daniel Swaim, Katie Swaim, Ryan Swaim, Blake Butler, Abby Swaim, Hannah Swaim, Ethan Swaim, Kylie Lynn, and Quentin and Tracy Lynn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews.
Betty was in the League of woman Voters and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was very involved in both groups
