Betty was an avid gardener and golfer, Big Band music enthusiast, and always eager to get out of the house and find out what’s new. From her first job as a switchboard operator for AT&T to her years at World Publishing, then two plus decades as a purchasing agent for both Butler Paper and Palmer Paper Companies.
She was also the first woman to gain entry into the Cleveland Club Litho and Printing House Craftsmen. She was always known as “Betty Boop” to her friends and fellow coworkers and admired for her sharp and adaptable mind. When introduced to computers she learned faster than many of her younger co-workers, and even won an award for it. She loved her family, especially her son Jim.
Betty was preceded in death by her sister Charlotte Taylor. She was survived by her son James F. Peterson; nieces Donna Taylor, Diane and husband Maury Paunal and their sons Andy, Alex, and Aaron, Debbie and husband Paul Rochefort; great nieces Anika Rochefort Becquart and Genevieve Rochefort; and cousins Teresa and husband James Barberousse, and their children Christian and Ashley.
A funeral service for Betty will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. A committal service will occur Friday, April 6, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel and Cemetery, 7301 East Lancaster, Fort Worth, Texas.
