Blair William Younkin, of Arlington, passed away January 4, 2016. He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on December 30, 1944, to Blair M. and Mae P. Younkin. He graduated from Jonathan M. Wainwright, Tainan, Taiwan, and attended college at Austin Peay University. He was married to Sherry Kroupa on June 10, 1978.
Blair proudly served this country for 22 years as a radar technician for the United States Air Force including two tours of duty in Vietnam. Afterward he worked at General Dynamics, Lars Industries, McDonald Technologies, SFIM and Medtronic. He was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the American Legion and the VFW. He had a passion for modeling scale airplanes, following the Pittsburgh sports teams and watching drag racing.
He is survived by his wife, a son Adam and wife, and a daughter Toni. He has 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, Benjamin and Bryan. He is preceded in death by a son, Derek.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., January 13, 2016, at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, TX followed by military honors at the DFW National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
