Bryan Douglas Lloyd

Bryan Douglas Lloyd, age 47, passed away on August 2, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. He was born on February 2, 1978, in Durham, North Carolina to Martha Faye Lloyd and Bryant Eugene Lloyd at Duke University Hospital. Bryan was reared in Durham at 535 Reynolds Avenue, and attended North Carolina A&T University. He married Akila Lloyd in 2005 and had one child, Kyrah. He worked at Beryl Corporation, where for over a decade he was a physician referral advisor for the National Kidney Foundation. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and nurturing his passion for history and learning. Bryan will be remembered for being a passionate Duke Blue Devils basketball fan, his love for hip-hop music , and his generous, kind, and caring nature.

His memory will be cherished by father and step-mother Bryant and Constance Lloyd, sisters Christy Taylor and Tracy McCurty, brothers Christopher Respass (Charmaine) and Mark Miller (Dorellia) daughter Kyrah Ford Lloyd, nephews Anthony Taylor II, Jalen Taylor, Toumani McCurty and CJ Respass (Jasz), nieces Zuri McCurty, Amber Garrett (Elton), Lauren Broussard (P.J), Trinity Miller, Leila Miller and Eliana Miller, uncles James Lloyd and Frank Lewis, aunts Catherine Perry and Lorna Loyd; cousins who he shared daily life events with thru a “cousins” group text chat and fellowshipping with at an annual cousins reunion, Marian Clanton, Frank Lewis III (Tasha), Jersan Ward (Jimmy), Johnny Carter, Christopher Lewis, and Mason Lewis; cousins Aunt Mary Helen Cain, Aunt Wanda Jones, and many other first cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Faye Lloyd, stepmother Gloria Lloyd, grandfather Frank Lewis, Sr, grandmothers Christine Lewis and Mary B. Lloyd, aunts Elizabeth Clanton, Susan Carter, Mavis Lewis, Rebecca Lawton, Susie Lloyd, Mary E. Thompson, and Lena Lloyd, uncles Robert Lloyd Jr., Earl Douglas Lloyd, and Frederick Lloyd, and beloved cousin, Odell Clanton.
