Charlotte Hoffman, 71, was called home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on June 11, 2024, at her home in Arlington, Texas. She was born on September 30th, 1952, in Sherman, Texas, to Rose and Alvin Goerdel.
Charlotte had a heart for Jesus; a heart for family; a heart for people; a heart for serving. That big, wonderful heart of hers ... just stopped. She didn't experience any pain. She simply went to sleep here on Earth and woke up in Heaven where she belongs.
Charlotte dedicated her life to serving others as the Communications Manager at Life Outreach International for 23 years. She was known for her smile that lit up the room, her generosity, always seeing the best in everyone, cooking for every occasion, and for living a life that reflected her faith in Jesus Christ.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Danielle and Jason Cochran, Stephanie and Aaron Parker, and A.J. and Tiffani Hoffman; her 5 grandchildren, Chase, Lauren, Hannah, Jackson, and Cooper; her sister, Carol, and her husband, Don Barnett; her brother-in-law, Tom Sawyer; her aunts, Carol Hall and Barbara Goerdel; and many other beloved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Alvin Goerdel, and her sisters, Cheryl Morgan and Connie Sawyer.
Charlotte was a devoted member of The Dwelling Place, where she served as a greeter and active member. She had a passion for watching Hallmark movies, cooking and baking, bird watching, reading, live music, and spending time with her family, reflecting her love for God and others. She was an ardent volunteer for Tea for Joy, an organization raising money and bringing awareness for those impacted by Spina Bifida. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she inspired many with her Christ-like love, kindness, and service.
A celebration of Charlotte's life and faith will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM at The Dwelling Place, 2805 W Arkansas Ln, Arlington, TX 76016. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, Mission Arlington, American Diabetes Association, Spina Bifida Association of North Texas, or The Dwelling Place in her memory.
The family finds comfort in the words of Jesus: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." (John 11 :25-26). Charlotte will be deeply missed, but we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Christ.
