Cynthia Lucile Sterling, born Cynthia Lucile Murphey on September 5th 1955 to Harvey and Eleanor Murphey. She was there first child, sister to Kimberly and Kerry. She went off to complete her schooling and graduated from South Grand Prairie high school in 1974.
In 1990 she married Garry Sterling where they soon raised there daughter Alicia in June 1992. She was perfect with her shiny blue eyes and her full head of black hair. Mom was so in love with her baby girl that she couldn’t contain her excitement and proudly showed her off to anyone that came in close proximity.
Mom was a tireless worker starting her own cleaning business, making the homes of Tarrant County beautiful. Later down the road she expanded her business to taking care of the elderly, and knowing Cindy this was right up her alley with her huge caring heart. Where ever she went she never met a stranger. Cindy was very bright and vibrant, you could always find her in her favorite colors which often meant neon yellow or pink, she would literlly light up the room with her big smile.
Mom lived a life full of early morning workouts with her girlfriends to late night country western dancing. If she wasn't in leggings and tennie shoes you could find her in wranglers and cowboy boots with all the bling she could possibly wear.
Mom was the healthiest person I knew, from eating right to working out and running 5k's she was unstoppable. She loved her doggies who never left her side especially when when we found out she was diagnosed with Cancer in July of 2019. Doctors first discovered the tumors in her brain which had metastasized to her lungs and spine. Stage four was hard to hear but mom was determined to fight. She decided to start treatment immediately in Dallas and while there completed her physical therapy and was strong enough to finally come home. It was an in-operable Adenocarcinoma. Her fight lasted for a year and five months. I was blessed enough to be able to spend her last five months with her. We'd be joking, talking and laughing reminiscing about all the good times. She never once lost her spunk and since of humor even days leading up to her passing.
She passed into Jesus’ arms December 9th at 11:29 pm. I never left her side. What a blessing it must be to fall asleep and wake up in heaven with our Heavenly Father. She is at peace. Mom spent 20 years loving and caring for others and there homes and encouraging them who not only became friends but also family. She was always learning and teaching others. She made each person feel special.
She loved you all!
Cindy leaves behind her sweetpea her daughter Alicia Sterling Hudson and her son-in-law Christopher Hudson, her granddaughters Paisley and Addie Hudson. Father and stepmother Harvey and Betty Murphey, brother Kerry Murphey and his wife Rita and sister Kimberly Kendall and her husband Michael, nephews Cody and Cassie Kendall that she loved very dearly.
She joins in heaven her Mother Eleanor and stepfather Robert Hopkins and Alicia's father Garry Sterling and many more loved ones.
Mom leaves behind an abundance of bling and all the red lipstick kisses she could give, her legacy will live on forever.
She was well loved and cared for by the doctors and staff at The Texas Oncology Center in Bedford and asked that in lieu of flowers please send any donations in Cindy Sterling's name to: American Cancer Society, or any charity of your choice.
Her service will be held this Sunday December 20th 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington off N Davis Dr. at 2:00 pm
