Dalton was the kind of person you only meet once in a lifetime, and once you do, you never forget. He was joy in motion. Sunshine and mischief wrapped in thick, luscious hair and overwhelming cologne. He lit up every room he walked into, not because he needed the spotlight, but because his presence made people feel more alive. He was brave, ecstatic, hilarious, and wildly unafraid, willing to make a complete fool of himself if it meant making someone else laugh.
He didn’t just love people, he championed them. He celebrated your wins, enveloped you in hugs that didn’t let go, and showed up without hesitation for his friends and family. He protected his people fiercely, offered quiet calm when you needed grounding, and never passed up a chance to lift someone up. To know Dalton was to feel safe, seen, and known.
He loved being an uncle with all of himself. With Easton, he bonded over Rubik’s cubes and video games, always eager to teach and play. With Dallas, he’d sit patiently by the side of the pool, never rushing her—just being there, steady and calm, until she was ready. And with Wyatt, his booming “Hi Bebe!” became a favorite greeting, full of joy and love, even if Wyatt may never remember it, we always will. Each of them felt the gift of Dalton’s presence: playful, protective, and deeply loving.
He was a collector of people and of objects, although, usually not his. His pockets were full of knives, quarters, his favorite Paddy’s Koozie, and his mom’s debit card. His whistle was piercing like his dad’s, and his spirit for life was louder than his Charger’s muffler that will now forever be a part of the family.
Dalton was one-half of the babies no one saw coming—the surprise his parents didn’t know they wanted, and the light they never knew was missing until it arrived. And now, with half of that light gone, he is the extraordinary presence none of us knows how to live without.
He was the red to Dillon’s blue, the chaos to the calm, the one who once mooed like a cow in public just to make his brother laugh. They were the most identical fraternal twins you’d ever meet—carbon copies in cowboy boots. From the time they could walk, they were a matched set—loud, loyal, wild boys with big hearts and even bigger energy. They were ride-or-die from day one, making mischief, memories, and everyone around them laugh until they couldn’t breathe. Their bond was deep and rowdy and real—the kind that doesn’t need to be explained, only felt.
He loved to play pool, danced like no one was watching (even though everyone was), and showed up fully wherever he was—especially with family. He made space for all of us to laugh, breathe, and belong. He didn’t hold back—not in love, not in joy, not in life.
And now, in the absence of his voice, his whistle, his hugs, we hold tightly to the memories that feel like lifelines. He was, and will always be, our light.
