His early childhood education included Lubbock ISD, Weatherford ISD and Grand Prairie ISD. Darryl graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1978. In high school he was elected boy class favorite for four years and elected Mr. South Grand Prairie his senior year. He was elected Student Council Vice President, inducted into the National Honor Society and lettered in track and basketball. He graduated from Paul Quinn College with a degree in accounting. Darryl was employed with UPS and with the Internal Revenue Service.
Darryl is survived by his parents, Donald and Delois George, Grand Prairie, TX, brother, David Wesley George, Denton, TX; two great aunts, Pearl Robinson, Arlington, TX and Edna Hopkins, Los Angeles, CA; six cousins and numerous friends.
