

David M. Haynes of Arlington, Texas passed away on March 8th, 2025 at 12:07 pm, surrounded by his family. David was born in Elberton, Georgia, the son of Alfred E Haynes and Emma Jack Haynes. David was a proud Georgia Bulldog Fan.
David graduated from Elberton High School, Class of 1957. He joined the US Navy, August 6, 1957. He served from August 1957 – August 1961.He was stationed at the base in Bermuda, Patrol Squadron VP45. Patrol Squadron 45 was air/sea rescue, anti -submarine search squadron flying PSM Aircraft, a turn engine sea plane. His second post, he was transferred to Washington DC, The Pentagon for the next 22 months, assigned to the office of the chief of Naval Operations/ Director of Naval Communication. David was proud of be an American and very proud of having served his country (as a side note, his connection to the 911 attack was his office in the Pentagon was taken out by the plane that flew into the building. David was married to Geraldine (Jerrie) Brown on April 12, 1958 in Elberton, Georgia. He then shipped off to Bermuda calling for his new bride to join him in September 1958 to begin their Love Story of almost 67 years. Upon honorable discharge from the navy, he began his professional career in Athens, Georgia with National Life and Accident Insurance Company/AIG. Promoted to Regional Manager and moved his family to Knoxville, Tenn. After 5 years he once again was promoted to Regional Manager in Dallas, Texas moving his family to Arlington, Tx in 1976. After 20+ years in The Insurance industry, he retired and started a second career with Odyssey One Source/Co-Advantage.
Taking his final retirement he loved fly fishing, working and fixing things around the house and mostly spending time with his family. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and The Lamplighters Sunday School Class.
Remaining to cherish David’s memory are spouse Jerrie Haynes, children daughter Teenya Blanchard (Wayne) son David Kent Haynes daughter Lisa Zepeda (Harvey) granddaughter Miranda Zepeda, grandson Garrett David Haynes and his sister. Preceding him in death were parents, Alfred and Emma Haynes; sister. Nelda Dickson.
