

David Tobin, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 12 after a six-year battle with Alzheimer. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 17, 1926, David grew up in Brooklyn, NY. After high school, he attended Brooklyn College, then joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a meteorologist during WWII. When the war ended, he made his way to Dallas, Texas in 1949.
David retired in 1983 after a 33-year career at LTV (Vought Aerospace), where he served as a logistics manager. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Myra Mathews Tobin; daughter and her husband, Cathy and Michael O’Donnell, daughter and her husband, Lisa and Gary Gilliland, six beautiful granddaughters, eight adorable great grandchildren, and a large extended Papa Dave family by marriage.
David loved to travel the world and enjoyed the Dallas Summer Musicals and Dallas Pops Symphony. He fought a number of medical battles over the years, but never lost his sense of humor and his love of a good meal. He was most happy when with surrounded by his family. They were his pride and joy. David was the best husband, Dad, and Grandpa EVER.
