

Don was raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School in 1955. He proudly served in the United States Navy Reserves and later built a long and dedicated career, retiring from Austin Paving and the City of Fort Worth.
In 1994, Don married Carol Tucker, and together they shared many years of companionship and love. Don enjoyed traveling to small Texas towns, visiting coffee shops, and spending time with longtime Arlington friends. He especially loved good catfish and barbecue. He had a deep appreciation for nature, a love for his pets, and was always eager to share stories of Arlington “back in the day.”
Don was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Arlington for over 70 years, a testament to his lifelong devotion to his faith and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buna Benson Boring and Lester Boring.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Carol Sawyer Boring; his sons, Don Richard Boring Jr. and wife Kim, and David Lance Boring and wife Laura; and his grandchildren, Colton Boring, Brandon Boring, Josh Boring, Emily Boring, and Abby Boring. He is also survived by Carol’s children, Cynthia Harris, Carolyn Benoit, and Jefferson Tucker, along with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by his brothers, Haskell Boring and wife Jodena of Conroe, Texas, and Jim Boring of Bend, Texas, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Don will be remembered as a kind and genuine man who took a sincere interest in others, valued simple pleasures, and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
