

Eduardo Heribierto Haynes, was born on January 13, 1940 to the union of Icilda McFarlene Haynes and Harold Reginold Haynes in The Canal Zone, Panama . On May 5, 2024, Eduardo (Papo) passed away. He was the eldest of all of his siblings. At the age of 19, his mother Icilda sponsored Eduardo and his brother Eldon (Don) to come to the United States (New York) to help them achieve their dreams and economic opportunities.
In 1968, Eduardo earned his degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, a testament to his dedication and hard work. He accepted the esteemed position as a New York City Police Officer, a role that he embraced with unwavering commitment. He became Sergeant, serving his community by vowing to be 'Faithful unto death,' the motto of the NYC police department. Eduardo retired after serving 16 years in the force, leaving a legacy of service and dedication. Eduardo (Ed) was also a cherished employee of Trammel Crow, Centex Homes, and Eagle Materials, where he and his colleagues became a family, a testament to his professionalism and camaraderie.
In 1976, Eduardo and Patricia joined their union with their only son, Eduardo Cedeno Haynes (Pito). They are completing their beautiful family, including older sisters Zickoya (Niqui) Foy, Fidencia (Fifi) Foy. Along with a love for travel, he shared a passion for sports. Eduardo was a fierce competitor! Whether playing semi-professional baseball or golfing, it was always "playing to win" with Eduardo. His proudest moments included receiving the perfect shot award in golf at the Iron Horse Golf Course in 1994 and 1997. Eduardo could be found on the golf course well until the distinguished age of 82.
Eduardo renewed his faith in Jehovah and was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1989, shortly after moving to Texas in 1985 from New York. Eduardo was faithful to Jehovah and spent countless hours knocking on doors, sending letters, and spreading his truth with his brothers and sisters at the Kingdom Hall.
Eduardo is preceded in death by his father Harold Reginold Haynes, mother Icilida McFarlane Haynes, brother Wilberto Myers (Bibi), sister Francelina Haynes, and brother Reginaldo Haynes (Rey Rey). Eduardo is survived by Violet Adeline Haynes Painter (Aunt) and Rosita Thelma Haynes de Newland (Aunt), Eldon Haynes (brother), Annette Haynes (sister), Maribel Haynes (Sister), Sonja Lewis (sister), Evonne Forbes (sister), and Angel Haynes (brother) along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Left to carry his legacy: Devoted son (Eduardo C Haynes (Pito), Channa Haynes (Daughter in Law), grandson's Wisdom Gabriel Haynes & Caleb Michael Haynes.
The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, support, friendship, concern, and kindness shown to Eduardo Heribierto Haynes (Papo/Papi/Pops/Ed/Brother) over the years up until his death.
