

Edwin “Big Daddy” Eugene Stracener, of Arlington, Texas passed away June 2, 2025. Ed was born on August 24, 1937, to Orvil Chester and Carrie Francis Stracener in Whitesboro, Texas. Ed honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1964. He met the love of his life Dora Rae and they were married on June 17, 1961, the couple was blessed with two wonderful children.
Ed worked at Gavrin Business Forms in Denison, Texas, until the family moved to Arlington where he continued working in the printing industry. Eventually Ed decided to take a chance and start his own printing company, PrintEdd Products out of his garage in 1981, and in 1982, he moved the company into their own building. His success went even further when he opened an additional location in Austin a few years later. In 1997 he opened another printing company, Printgraphics, located in Grand Prairie. Leaving behind a successful family legacy.
In Big Daddy’s free time he enjoyed, traveling the world to play golf with his son and friends, going places like Ireland and Scotland to play on some of the best courses in the world. He was a season ticket holder and went to every home game of the Dallas Cowboys. He also held season tickets to the Texas Rangers and was elated to attend The World Series in 2023. He also liked to travel down to Austin to attend Formula 1 and Moto Grand Prix races with Darrell and close friends. He sincerely enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends.
Big Daddy was an amazing consistent, faithful, fair, and kind man. He was a family man along with being an upstanding, honest businessman. He was a caring and understanding leader to his staff. Everyone that crossed paths with him would say he had a genuine smile and easy-going personality, along with a sharp sense of humor always leaving a positive impression on whoever he met.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents Orvil and Carrie Stracener.
Big Daddy will be remembered by his wife of 64 years, Dora Rae Stracener; children Brenda Canright and husband Darrell, Darrell Stracener; grandson, Patrick Neville; cousin, Harold O’Neal; nephew, Jeff Gregg and wife Rosario; along with many additional family and many many friends.

A visitation for Edwin will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. Funeral: Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. Graveside: Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery, 293 N Friendship Rd, Sherman, TX 75092.
