

Elizabeth Garcia, 91, of Grand Prairie, passed away on August 27, 2022. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 2, 1930. She grew up in Tarejero, Michoacán, Mexico, where she married Mariano Garcia in 1947 and started a family. Elizabeth and Mariano returned to the US in 1969 and ultimately settled in Grand Prairie with their nine children in 1972 where she lived the remainder of her life. She had a passion for sewing, knitting, dancing, cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at various school and sporting events, and cooking big meals for her family and those she loved.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Cruz and Elvira Gonzales, her husband, Mariano Garcia, her son, Alain Garcia, her grandchildren Pedro Espinoza, Marivelle Garcia, Sarah Elizondo, and her great-grandsons Josef Garcia and Joshua Faber. She was the last of her siblings to pass. She is survived by her children, Elvira Oliva, Hugo Garcia, Dalia Arellano, Guadalupe Garcia, Norvella Taylor, Roy Garcia, Elizabeth A. Garcia, Helen Elizondo, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will be missed by all who have come to love and know her.
A committal service will take place at Southland Cemetery in Grand Prairie on September 13th at 1:00 pm.
