

Forrest Kenneth (Ken) Rogers, 78, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018, in Arlington. Ken was born on January 27, 1940, in Fort Worth to Robert and Lottie Beth Rogers. He graduated from Eire High School in 1958, and served his country as a missile deployment instructor in Germany as an officer in the United States Air Force. He then returned to Texas and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Ken had a keen intellect, a lively sense of humor, and a ready smile. He had a passion for helping others, both in his career as a psychotherapist, and as a devoted member of The Bridge, a non-profit organization that provided food, clothing and medical assistance to the homeless. He and his wife, Billi, were long-time residents of Houston, where they were active members of Grace Presbyterian Church.
Survivors: His wife of 46 years, Billi; daughter, Sonya Meador and husband John; son, Craig Rogers and wife Beverly; stepdaughters, Jill Spencer, Holly Smith and husband Alan; grandchildren Julie Rubenstahl and husband Trevor, Christopher Thralls and wife Julie, Kristin Rogers and husband Derek Ramsey, Courtney Rogers, Cassie Rogers; step-grandchildren Lauren Spencer and partner Emmet Moeller, Connor Spencer and wife Valerie, Spencer Smith, Travis Smith; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Jones, Nelda West. Ken’s life will be celebrated during a private family gathering.
