As a committed servant in the Lord’s Army, George Jr. feverishly marched to the beat of his own drums until he took his last breath.
When George Jr. was 9 years old his mother remarried Air Force veteran, Clifford Brent Jacobs, the man he’d call dad. George alongside his mom and younger sister Victoria travelled the country living on numerous Air Force bases before his dad was sent to the Vietnam War. Following the war his family returned to Omaha, Nebraska where he would complete his senior year at North Omaha High School, Class of 1969.
After high school, he moved to New York to attend Storm Preparatory Academy as a member of their competitive diving and wrestling team. He later received a scholarship through the Warren Buffet Foundation to attend Creighton University, where he received his B.A in Theology and Psychology, Class of 1976. He also received his license in drug and alcohol treatment (LCDC - NE).
Despite living on different military bases throughout the years, George always loved worshipping the Lord and serving in church. He was baptized at an early age, but it was his Grandmother Victoria Gibson who encouraged him to strengthen his relationship with Christ which ultimately led him to accepting a call to pastoral ministry. George Jr was led to join Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Revered James S Allen, who ordained him in 1973. He would serve Zion faithfully until 1979 when God led him to pursue seminary school in Fort Worth, Texas at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Class of 1982.
Following seminary school, he would go on to join Beth Eden Baptist Church and eventually be called to lead WatchCare Missionary Baptist Church in (StopSix) Fort Worth, TX. He would also join Polytechnic High School as a Drug and Gang prevention Counselor, where he received his Texas LCDC. He would also serve as Poly High’s head boys and girls Soccer Coach and serve Fort Worth ISD feeder schools from 1985 - 2005!
