Funeral: 2:00 pm Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, followed by interment at Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Glenda was born in Dallas, TX on April 4, 1941 to Jimmy Gardner and Helen Dunn. She graduated from Fort Worth Tech High School and eloped with Terry Leonard Ake on July 19, 1957 when they were both 16 years old. She had a career in real estate, and worked for over 30 years with Ebby Haliday.
She had a passion for family, Christ, gardening, travel, the mountains, Terry’s Harley and numerous sports including snow skiing and scuba diving. For most of her life, Glenda was a family maker. She could be counted on to have holiday celebrations that included the best food and the most spectacular decorations.
Glenda was preceded in death by her son Scott, parents, mother-in-law Billie Ake, and father-in-law Leonard Ake.
Survivors: her husband, Terry Leonard Ake; daughter, Sherry Dianne Ake; daughter-in-law Maribel Crespo; granddaughter Whitney Ake Hoy; brother, Hal Dunn; and sister, Beverly Dunn.
