Harold Curtis Greene Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025 at the age of 70. His life was a testament to faith, family devotion, and creativity.
Curtis was born on January 19, 1955, in Germany while his father, Harold Greene Sr., was stationed there with the United States Air Force. He was welcomed into the world by his parents, Harold and Ruthie Greene. The family later settled in Arlington, Texas, where Curtis spent his early years and attended school through the 9th grade. His journey then took him to Rock Valley, Iowa—a move that would change the course of his life, as it was there he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Mary Miller.
On May 23, 1973, Curtis and Elizabeth were united in marriage at Peace Lutheran Church in rural Sioux Center, Iowa. Shortly after, the couple returned to Texas to begin their life together. Curtis embraced fatherhood with joy and pride, welcoming his daughter Melissa Mary Greene on December 7, 1973, and his son Andrew James Greene on March 3, 1977.
Curtis was a man of many talents and passions. He was a welder and also worked for Texas Instruments and Cornelius Co. He worked at JC Penneys from 1975 to 1985 selling electronics. His entrepreneurial spirit and creative drive led him to establish Curtis Productions, a small business that transferred cherished family memories from 8mm film to VHS. He became a well-regarded videographer and photographer for weddings and ministry videos. He served as a cameraman for various live talk shows, always capturing moments that mattered. Curtis also loved to photograph the beauty of God’s creation.
A true inventor at heart, Curtis enjoyed tinkering, building, and bringing ideas to life. He designed and patented the SP-7, created the Magna Cruise for motorcycles, and was ahead of his time building a hybrid electric car in 1983. His hands were rarely still—if he wasn't building guitars or riding his motorcycle, he was deep in thought on his next big idea.
Above all, Curtis loved and cherished his family. He found great joy in visiting his children and grandchildren in Virginia and New Mexico, creating memories and offering his steadfast faith and humor.
He will be remembered for his creative mind, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. When you were with Curtis you knew you were loved. He lived a life full of curiosity, invention, and deep connection—a legacy that will continue in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Greene; his daughter Melissa & her husband Chad Mayr and their children: Hannah & Noah Mertes, Luke & Kiersten Mayr, Caleb & Maggie Mayr and Micah Mayr; his son Andrew & his wife Karen Greene and their children: Claire DeFoy, Sophie Greene, Sam Greene & Krista Greene; His mother Ruthie Paukner,
step-mother Sue Greene, brother and sister-in-law; Gary & LuAnn Greene and many extended family and friends who were blessed by his presence.
A celebration of Curtis’s life will be held on October 4th at Kingdom Gate Church - 1701 Martin Luther Drive Arlington, TX 76010 at 11 a.m., lunch reception to follow.
