

Harriet Wheeler was born December 4, 1915, to E.Eugene and Harriet Mead in Danbury, Connecticut. She was a long time member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and was an organist for many years at the 12:30 PM Sunday Mass. Her husband, Ward H. Wheeler, preceded her in death in 1989. Ward was a Field Service representative for Avco Lycoming, officed at Bell Helicopter Textron. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington and studied music at Texas Christian University. Harriet Wheeler was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Arlington, the Arlington Music Club, the Arlington Music Teachers Association, the American Guild of Organists (Fort Worth Chapter), the Leisure Club and the Woman's Guild of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross, a hospital volunteer Grey Lady in Bridgeport, Connecticut and in Dallas, Texas. She also volunteered with the Veda Knox School and Venture School in Arlington, Texas.
She is survived by, one daughter, Barbara Sowell, three grandchildren: Amy Lunt Leonard, David C Sowell, and David J. Lunt;and seven great-grandchildren: Damian Sowell, Braden Sowell, Michael Steward, Ricky Steward, Eva Raney, Madeline Leonard, and Alexander Lunt. Honorary Pall Bearers: All of Her Freinds at the Arlington Kiwanis Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1200 South Davis Drive, Arlington on July 24, 2013 10:00am.
Burial will be at Moore Memorial Gardens.
Visitation July 23, 2013 6:00 pm, Rosary service starts at 7:00 pm both will be held at Moore Funeral Home.
