Surprise visit to Houston for Halloween 2016

I'm so sorry for the pain that the family is going thru. Helen was such a sweet & caring person. I always enjoyed our visits. It seems we always had so much to talk about. We shared memories & life's issues that we both experienced.  I will miss dear Helen and will save a place in my heart. Love to the family.

Helen was the first In-Law to join our family.  She fit in perfectly.  She is intelligent, witty and sassy. She will be missed at all our family gatherings.  She is an Icon and will continue to be since she left us too soon but left us with so many memories and her beautiful children to carry on her legacy.  Helen, you no longer suffer and you are dancing in the Heavens. Hugs and love to all who knew this special lady.  Helen, you will not be forgotten.

I knew Helen for many years but we were never close. What I recall is the relationship she had with my Mom, Barbara Ramos. Helen and my Mom spent a lot of time together whether to share happiness or sadness. They were buddies and I will admit I felt jealousy. Foolish of me because they just loved & cared for one another.  Rest  in Peace Helen, you are now back with my Mom sharing & caring. Give her a big hug & kiss from me.

You and Jr when he was just 6 months old and he was already the half of your size. You loved your grandbabies so much and it always showed!! We will forever miss you grandma. I love you. I just know you’re in heaven right now dancing to Lionel Richie❤️

The Reynaga family was among the early Mexican families that settled in Killeen.  The  family Reynaga joined the Camacho, Gomez, Jaramillo, Arredondo, Gonzalez, Hernandez, Delgado, Lozano, Carrillo, Cepeda, Uranga, Herrera, Cruz, Rodriguez, Reynaga, Paredes, Davila, Reyna, Garcia, Mendoza, DeJesus, Rivera, Ramos, Ruiz,Flores,Marin,Tovar,
Mendoza,Vargas,Montalvo, Pérez ,Sanchez, Luna,Torres,Leal,Soliz, Lopez, Vasquez,Martinez
families among a few others that I might have failed to recall. 

Helen Angelina Reynaga  Ramos and I shared some classes at Rancier, then at Nolan Jr. High. 
Helen was quiet and shy, we were kindred spirits from the first time we met. At the beginning of the year school year, I would walk in a class and search for Helen's smile in my classes and I  would seek out a desk near her. We smiled at each but never talked much, we didn't want to get in trouble. We knew better.
When I returned to KHS Roo country in my senior year , I sought out Helen. Although, we didn't share classes, we hung out in our Mexican corner of the KHS courtyard in the mornings. There we recapped events by those who attended the Pan American Association's weekly Saturday night dances.
In the summer of 1967(?), Helen and I, among 2 other young ladies were selected  to campaign for Pan American Queen coronation of the Fiesta Patrias(September 16th).
Until the candidates were announced, I didn't know Helen and I were vying for the crown. We giggled  during the announcement -kindred spirits. Once during the campaign, we even purchased raffle tickets from each other to support each other-still kindred spirits.
Her gentle smile and her woman warrior spirit- always memorable. She was a Killeen High School Fighting Kangaroo and joins other Roos Not Forgotten.

Rest in peace sweet lady.

From my family most sincere condolences for such a great loss.  I was thinking that one thing I can remember about Helen was when we were all teens “working at the Car wash”.  I think we all worked there and enjoyed been around each other.  The other thing I remember of her is she was this “Queen Beauty” for the Pan American Club in the mid 60s.  We will miss her as a sister n law and as a sister to many.  May she rest in peace and may she journey well into heavens.

You holding Austin.  It didn't matter how big this boy was, you were gonna hold your grandbaby.

You traveled so far to celebrate Avas 5th birthday with all of us in San Diego.  We walked the beach at sunset, you didn't let anything stop you from enjoying life!
