Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home with burial to follow in Parkdale Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home.
Hellen was born Nov. 29, 1923, in Rainelle, W.Va. She married R.C. Strickland on Feb. 18, 1944. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Navy in 1960, they settled back in Arlington where she spent every day of the rest of her life devoted to and being the heart and soul of her family.
Survivors: Her husband, R.C. Strickland of Arlington; son, Randy Strickland of Arlington; daughter, Shirley Strickland of Arlington; sister, Lenore Ramey and husband, Paul, of Ontario, Ohio; sister, Lorelei Brown of Bridgeport, Ohio; grandchildren, Gray and wife, Corie, of Euless, Katie Reed of Tahlequah, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Melody and Trinity Reed and Gavin Strickland; and sisters-in-law, Anne Adkins of Ravenswood, W.Va., and Margaret Adkins of Oak Hill, W.Va.
