Ignacio retired from the US Army after over 23 proud years of service to his country. Following retirement he served the community as a carrier for the US Postal Service. He was avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, but Ignacio's greatest love was spending time with his family.
Ignacio is survived by his wife, Erika Cortez; son, Ricardo "Ric" Cortez and wife Theresa; daughter, Claudia Perez; grandchildren, Evan Cortez and wife Nichole, Chase Cortez and wife Rebekkah, Victoria "Tori" Cortez and Dominick Cortez; brother, Francisco Cortez; sister, Juanita Atkinson and husband Leo; numerous nephews, nieces, other family and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 9:00 am Thursday; May 30,. 2019 at Moore Funeral Home. Interment with Army Honors will follow at 11:00 am Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, in Dallas, TX.
